a culture of ownership

what it means to be 100% Employee-owned -- Everyone is 100% ACCOUNTABLE & 100% INVESTED.

So what exactly does it mean to be a “100% Employee-Owned" company? Just what it says. Our employees are the owners of The Douglas Company, not Wall Street or any single person. When the company succeeds, it's our employees that benefit.

This employee ownership creates a different way of doing business, where all partners’ interests are directly aligned with the company. We are all 100% accountable and 100% invested, creating a powerful dynamic that benefits everyone.

Grow in your career at TDC

for all our preconstruction and operations associates, we offer The Douglas Leadership Program.

At The Douglas Company, investing in the professional growth of our employee-owners is at the very core of our business. We believe that it's just as important as the clients that we serve every day. Our Douglas Leadership Program was designed with this in mind, offering learning and development opportunities on a progressive schedule to associates in the Preconstruction and Operations departments.

Learn more about the douglas Leadership Program

At The Douglas Company, we approach training and development with the intent to enrich the capacity of our associates to think, learn, act, and lead with integrity and wisdom. We believe that just as individuals must play a role in shaping their own professional careers, it's also the responsibility of organizations and their leaders to provide opportunities for employees to develop new skills and knowledge.

With this in mind, we developed The Douglas Leadership Program. The program takes professional development experiences and then takes it a step further by combining it with structured leadership. Through the DLP, we focus on enhancing the competencies and behaviors needed to support both our business goals and meaningful learning opportunities for our associates.

There are three components to The Douglas Leadership Program that are key to success: our proprietary Pathways to Success program, Monthly Cohort Meetings, and Department Meetings.

The douglas leadership program

Pathways to success

monthly cohort meetings

department meetings

One area of learning focuses on our six Pathways to Success -- which provide a journey of growth and exploration. Associates are scheduled to be off site one day each quarter for Pathways training. This allows for a dedicated day of training and leadership development.

Pathways to success

Employee-owners are divided into two different cohorts -- the Emerging Leaders and the Advancing Leaders -- depending on how long they've been with the company. Meetings amongst the cohorts provide experiential learning opportunities for sharing both successes and challenges.

Monthly cohort meetings

These meetings offer department-specific learning and are a sub-component offered to enhance direct technical job-related learning.
