We are headquartered in Holland, Ohio -- a suburb of Toledo -- with a second office in Orlando, Florida. Primarily, we serve the Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Florida markets. However, we do travel and our processes are designed so that we can enter other markets and have repeatable success.

We are market-specialists when it comes to Multifamily and Senior Living Communities. These markets encompass a variety of different products – each with their own complex inner workings – including but not limited to: market-rate multifamily housing, affordable multifamily housing, hospitality, health-related facilities, and the full range of senior living such as Active Adult, Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Short-Term Rehab, and Skilled Nursing.

No, we don’t employ in-house trades at The Douglas Company. We have a network of reliable trade partners, vendors, and subcontractors with whom we work closely. This allows our project team to bring the best value to the project, through competitive bidding and ensures the most qualified subcontractors are selected. A copy of our detailed subcontractor prequalification process is available upon request.
Do you self-perform any of the construction work on your projects?
We recommend reaching out as early as possible. Our Integri-D process works the best – and saves you the most money – when implemented in the earliest stages of development. If you have an idea in mind for your next project, it’s a good time to get in touch and make The Douglas Company part of your building team. And if you’re not in the beginning stages of planning but still on the hunt for a general contractor, it’s not too late. When clients come to us at various stages in their projects, they have different needs and we work to connect the dots. We use our whole network to help the whole project.

This refers to our approach to bidding projects. This set-up, where we are the sole-sourced general contractor for the project, gives us the freedom to come up with the Best Price Solution and take the time to prequalify all subcontractors. Unlike competitive bid projects, we work as part of the team with owner, architect, and subcontractors to create the best outcome possible. It's both in our best interest and the clients to operate like this.
